The Cruel hand of Fate - A loss of a young life.

Hi,
Yesterday, I drove my son to a very difficult "venue". It was the first time he was to wear a suit and this moment is USUALLY determined by a wedding or dinner out etc. This was far more disturbing and was to show his sincere regret for the death of a very good friend.
When young folk reach a certain age they, and we've all been there, feel they are invincible and always know what is best for them.
Some of you may be thinking "I know what this is about, DRUGS". Well I can tell you that this tragic loss of a young life was not due to drugs but a senseless loss of a young man after a night out with friends, where a "few" drinks were drunk and the night was late, and very cold. The young man, having missed the last bus home from town decided he would be better walking and probably looked forward to the warmth of his familiar house. Unfortunately the rest of the group had failed to notice his departure from the collective group and after determined attempts to locate him failed, they believed he must have gained a lift home and contemplated their own journeys back to warmer environments.
The next morning brought shades of tragic grey to their youthful lives and the news that their jolly mate had been found dead on the local green, only meters from safety, stung their minds and swept remorselessly around the town. A combination of extreme temperatures and alcohol had snatched the life out of this gentle sole. The once joyful expressions and welcomed voice of the lost young man was silent and still.
A disastrous end to a, apparently, wondrous lad would stab at the hearts of some eight hundred attendant's of the funeral. My son believed this young man to be "one of the best people he had ever met" in his own life. "Everyone" thought this loss was indiscriminate and cruel and took the breath from an unmistakable "good guy".
My thought on this disaster of fate is that we must ALL take some portioned responsibility for this event and stride to educate every young person of the dangers of too much drink. Some of us, who have seen ourselves in similar circumstances but who have been allowed to remain safe and comforted must accept the danger for what it is and not take for granted the fact that WE survived our younger trials.
Fate IS cruel and will grab the life from all who lower their guard, so please take care and enjoy yourself wisely and protect yourself and your loved-ones from the anguish of seeing another young life disappear from our part of reality.

DO YOU HAVE A STORY TO TELL??

TOO MANY ACHES AND PAINS?

If you suffer from aches and pains it is important to make sure you have established whether these pains are superficial or critical, that is to say, as a result of a knock or bump or are more serious and may be some disabling condition.
Never be afraid or unsure about speaking to your doctor. As the saying goes, "it is better to be sure". Believe me it is always better, my wife and I went five years before we sort help from our doctor, to find out that she was suffering from "fibro-myalgia, angina and high blood-pressure" and I had damage to two areas of my spine and more recently asthma. She ended up in a wheel-chair for three years, only more recently (six years on) being able to walk some times, with great pain.
Never sell yourself short.
