Well, I suppose you have all heard the saying "grandad knows". That is, unless he is suffering from dementia or some other similar disability. I believe we have all "arrived" at a point in time where society has lost (predominantly) the respect and care for the older members of our neighbourhoods.
At one time the elderly would have been seen as assets to the communities they inhabited, they would be consulted on "how to.....?" and would be accepted as having given their contribution to the clan, tribe or town etc. This "status" would afford them a high ranking in the community and a reverence within the younger members of the citizens.
What can we do?
What should we do?
What will we do?
A few of our younger folk have, seemingly, lost their way and are fighting to show their worth to a society that is not in a position to provide the stimulus they deserve and need to develop. We see "well behaved" youngsters being penalised by social bureaucracy and the "rouges" being either locked up in secure premises, at a cost of up to £8000.00 a week or others being shown adventure weekends and individual encouragement.
Bullies continue to play while the victims of their bullying are kept in the library or "safe room". Therefore, the bullies continue their "trade" while the victim has the "victim" label tattooed on their conscience and present themselves as such. The circle continues.
What can we do?
What should we do?
What will we do?
This is the start of, what I hope will be a journey to the answers of many of "our" failings. A roller coaster ride to a point where we can "all" be proud of our behaviour and where we can all support our communities, for the sake of CARING.
regards,
grandadknows.

TOO MANY ACHES AND PAINS?
If you suffer from aches and pains it is important to make sure you have established whether these pains are superficial or critical, that is to say, as a result of a knock or bump or are more serious and may be some disabling condition.
Never be afraid or unsure about speaking to your doctor. As the saying goes, "it is better to be sure". Believe me it is always better, my wife and I went five years before we sort help from our doctor, to find out that she was suffering from "fibro-myalgia, angina and high blood-pressure" and I had damage to two areas of my spine and more recently asthma. She ended up in a wheel-chair for three years, only more recently (six years on) being able to walk some times, with great pain.
Never sell yourself short.
